hello guppies!!!

i m new 2 dis thread i m in luv wid dis thread my morning starts wid reading all ur comments n views abt brides n dere stuff
Well i m getting married nxt yr i m gonna start making my dresses nw but i wn2 knw
either da trends will change till nxt yr or not &
plz post some nyc, stylish dresses wid nice cuts other dan wearing on barat & walima

Hi there,

Welcome to the forum - you will find absolutely worthwhile and such helpful information here. Really it's awesome.

Firstly, do you live in Pakistan or abroad? Reason I am asking, the type of fashion & trends changing plays an important role. If your going to live overseas after marriage or even reside abroad now, I would highly recommend to make a few of the latest style clothes and for the rest stick to saree's (if you wear them) else normal standard shalwar kameez in terms of length and cut. You would be better off in the long run.

Secondly, when in next yr is your wedding? if it's mid next year, you should be right to start making clothes now, if its end of next year i'd suggest make few now and few mid next year to be in with latest trend.

Honestly, it all depends on what you want from your wedding clothes - if you just want to wear latest trends after marriage for that time, then go for it, or some people like to make traditional type of clothes that will never date, and they can wear later on too.

i live in pak (lhr) and will b settling 2 uk after my marriage
2ndly ...... i ll b getting married in oct / nov nxt yr , dates r not decided yet

i couldn't decide wat kind of clothes shld i start making nw i actually m in luv wid dese long A- line shiirts & flared cuts BUT i dnt knw wat kindda trend will b in oct/ nov ...
i actually dnt lyk alot of " kam walay suits " i prefer "nyc cuts" with stylish work on it but m worried tht if i m gonna make it nw n if fashion trends change den wat will i do ?
i lyk ur suggestion of wearing sarees but i dnt wan2 make alot of it i thought of making 5 sarees but dnt knw tht it will suit me or not as i nvr wore any ? so m still confused

Right, well if your going to UK, it's a different story to if you were to reside in Pakistan.

Firstly, because your marriage is towards the end of next year and currently your in Pakistan, making clothes closer to the date shouldn't be a problem for you? If your concerned of prices going up by that time, then yes, its a good point to consider. Perhaps consider purchasing your Saree's now since really they won't date by ur wedding time.

I honestly, if I was in your position, I'd start getting them made in Jun/Jul next year. That way you will be safe.

Me on the other hand, lives overseas, and marriage will be overseas too, so I have to consider postage/handling timings too.. Im really confused myself LOL !!

Tbh, I reckon these A line type dresses will slowly die down after mid next year, but hey ! If you like them then get them made, member you do fashion for what you like and what looks nice on you hence you can create your own fashion.

Here abroad, everyone wears anything, since we don't always go to make new clothes always. So don't worry too much :)

One other thing you can do, since you don't like much kaam on your dresses and you wanna go for the other type of look, get all your work/embroidery towards the top and middle of your dresses that way if you feel the kameezes need to be shortened you can always hem up or cut them at the time :)

Make a few of every type :) ull be safe..

zainy i m very choosy abt dresses i choose 1 dress in 1 month coz i dnt lyk 2 much traditional so m worried tht i would b able 2 make clothes till tym ..... but u r rite abt making it in june/ jul or may b at da start of nxt yr .......
i heard tht da latest trends ll b same A-Line shirts but wid short lengths and instead of pants dere ll b churidaars ... i lyk da concept of churidaar n tights but i hate short Aline /anarkali frocks ... i can imagine how weired it ll luk on me :(
