Only if you’re wearing AIr Jordan’s…or the old school shoes that once came out..with pumps!
The water will flow up because it is a liquid and has less mass.
Re: TWO very confusing questions that I need answers to: ..........
Why does the guy who gets into a car accident fly out the windshield when his car head on hits a pole at 200km/h (assume he has no seatbelt on).
go on a roof, throw a cup filled with water down. and that scene from Apollo 13 when they break through the stratosphere.
Re: TWO very confusing questions that I need answers to: ..........
Well if you spit up it does come down...so why wouldn't the water? It is a question the world may never know.
It's crazy, isn't it?
Re: TWO very confusing questions that I need answers to: ..........
It will come down eventually :p, it'll just go up first. Actually it may "appear" to go up, but whats really happening is that you and the cup are heavier, and you fall down faster than the water, thus it seems that the water is going up.

I'm serious.
Re: TWO very confusing questions that I need answers to: …
It’s newton’s third law of motion in action. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Your weight is nothing but the reaction of the ground ON you due to the action (gravity) of you ON the ground. If you and the weight machine fell freely at the same acceleration (9.8 m/s^2), then the weight machine would not register any reading. Similarly, you cannot gain any upward reaction from the suitcase, since you and the suitcase (analogy to weight machine) are falling freely with similar accelration, namely 9.81 m/s^2.
Re: TWO very confusing questions that I need answers to: …
Yes, same thing. When you fall, along with the water cup, you both acquire the same velocity at the same time due to gravity. Gallileo (sp?) did an experiment with a feather and stone and dropped them both at the same time frm the leaning tower of pisa, and they both landed on the ground at the same time, that is because gravitational force acting on both, as dictated by F=mg, where g = 9.81 m/s^2, is the same.
In reality however the feather reaches it a little later because of air resistance. But in a theoretical world in a vacuum, the water, cup, you, your shoelace, and the ant on your body should all fall at the same increasing velocity.

Re: TWO very confusing questions that I need answers to: ..........
I think if u jump, then you'd be in a slightly better shape than ur suit case
Re: TWO very confusing questions that I need answers to: ..........
^jump against what?
Do you ever notice whenever someone jumps, he has to push down extra hard on the floor, so the floor pushes back on and gives you lift?
Where in mid air are you going to gets that push from? the suitcase? the suitcase is also hurtling down at the same speed as you.
Re: TWO very confusing questions that I need answers to: ..........
haha.. i've thought of the first one too.
as for the cup, u can hold it upside down. that way, the water will not be able to escape from the cup, and u could use a straw to suck water down into ur mouth.
Re: TWO very confusing questions that I need answers to: ..........
what if u replace the suitcase with something heavier.. say.. a car. car's r pretty heavy, and u wont be able to push the car down. could u get a lift off from the car?
Re: TWO very confusing questions that I need answers to: ..........
^ No. All objects fall at the same speed. I forgot the guy's name that came up with it after throwing stuff off the Leaning Tower of Peetza.
Re: TWO very confusing questions that I need answers to: ..........
so ur saying a bird's feather will fall down at the same speed as a human being?
Re: TWO very confusing questions that I need answers to: ..........
without air resistance that would be the case:)
Re: TWO very confusing questions that I need answers to: ..........
What does air resistance have to do w/ anything? Air would resist on the human aswell.
Re: TWO very confusing questions that I need answers to: ..........
it has to do all!
the fall speed results only from gravitaional attraction of earth and height of fall, but as air is a gaz (actually a mixture of gas), there is friction between air molecules and the falling body which brake the fall, and the speed decrease is depending on the surface that undergoes air friction, hence the greatest the surface, the less fast the fall....
this explains why feathers have lots of hair on it to increase the surface...same applies to parachute, it is a large surface so that your fall speed can be decreased by air friction...
