My family is scattered all over Punjab. Lahore, Faisalabd, Rawalpindi, Okara, Multan, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Wazirabad, etc.

And I can tell you that even those relatively peaceful cities like Faisalabad have become too dangerous. Every colony is organizing their own security because Police has miserably failed them. This is reality on ground and from first hand experience.

Before 2008 it was much much better…

Faisalabad I agree is an exception. With the amount of people getting unemployed due to load shedding-closure of factories.. the petty crimes have increased… but nothing compared to hard core criminality and gang bhattas in Karachi. It would be pretty normal in any city of the world which has lost 400,000-500,000 industrial jobs. Effective policing alone can not control it.. you need to put people back to work..
