What is the two state solution proposed in Israel? Would it give the Palestinians their own sovereign nation or will it give them the status of being a state within Israel?

The ruling party of Israel, and the majority of it's right-wing coalition partners do not favour a Palestinian state, and have been actively working against it by continuing to build illegal Jewish settlements. The Israeli people will have to elect out this right-wing, fanatical, Jewish fundementalist and settler supporting government, before there is any real chance of moving towards some sort of Palestinian statehood, and I don't see that for years ahead.
