Hey guys!
I need your opinion on a hall to book and the prices involved. I want to have the men and women seated separately because I’m a hijabi and have lots of hijabi friends as well, and I want everyone to be able to dress up to their best (myself included )
So I looked into some halls, and they vary according to the minimum guests per room, and the prices.
One hall is $50/head with a 200 people minimum for two rooms = $10,000 for Saturday (it would be total $8,000 on Sunday)
Another hall is $35/head with a 300 minimum for two rooms = $10,500 for saturday. (it would be $7500 for sunday).
These prices are without the food…
So pretty much it does come out the same…but my question is that since I am having about 200 guests should I try to have the cheaper hall put a partition in one large room, thus dividing it into two areas?? In that case it would be $35 x 200 = 7,000 for Saturday and $5,000 for Sunday. Or should I go for the two rooms? Is it worth it??? Would a partition down the center of the room look awkward???
Re: two separate rooms or a partition in the hall???
partitions never really work and the women just won't feel as comfortable as they would if it were two separate rooms. If you get two separate rooms you can also ask the hotel to only have female staff in the women's room.

i think it's better to have 2 seperate rooms when you have the choice, it's just so much better than way. I hated the partition they used at my sis's wedding, looked so messy

This always happens, u get a lot of guys trying to check out the girls from underneath/around the sides of the partition, two rooms gets rid of all that. I don't think the majority of hijabi girls will feel comfortable enough to let their hair down unless they're actually in another seperate area.
Re: two separate rooms or a partition in the hall???
Great advice everyone. Two rooms it is!
And come to think of it, you guys are right --- my brothers will definitely not shoo away from the women's side if there were a partition. They think the guys side is boring :-P
We for my sisters wedding went with two different halls. It worked out so well!
Two different rooms or two different wedding halls??? I knew a girl who had hers in two different wedding halls, but it'd seem like an inconvenience for the groom and male relatives to drive all the way to the other hall to pick up the bride....no?

lol i agree.....i remember once my fiance was telling me that he doesnt like the concept of man and woman separate places at wedding in Pakistan...He said its so boring at man side......so if there is a partition than ofcourse the boys will try they best to get to girls side so better book 2 separate rooms
