I know about my ancestors. 
A person with the title of “Salaar Pir” came to the subcontinent of India (Deebal) in the army of Muhammad Bin Qasim :rehm: … He was one of the commanders.
He fought with the armies of Raja Daahir and settled in “SaaNbhar” city of India (Raajputana) …
He was later martyred by hindus in a battle. His head is burried in the city of “SaaNbhar” next to Jai Pur - The pink city.
My grand father had the house (a haveli) next to his mazaar in the city. My uncle recently visted that place and found a muslim family living in the place. He was allowed to have a visit and was warmly welcomed.
One day, I will visit that place :insha:

but i have also heard that some gruops just call themselves qureshis to show a significant family background :)
