Two Questions

*how many days before the big day should one wax? because in my family the functions go on for two weeks the dholkis followed by the grand dholki and then moyoun and mehndi and the wedding happens at least two days after the mehndi.

*what if you get pimples after waxing or even without waxing i.e just by some stress by thinking of the future etc..

Re: Two Questions

for zits, keep some zit cream handy, and in a pinch, use toothpaste to dry it out.

for waxing, i dunno... two weeks is a long time...

Re: Two Questions

Wax? arms/legs/body or face????, for face it is alway better to get them done atleast 1-2 months before to see if you'll break-out or not, (for one time atleast) then do the clean-up at least one-week before the big day, just don't get stressed-out as you'll get pimple/break-out when a persons is tensed/stressed, therefore you should also take some vitamine B complex to keep the stress-level normal, so in order you don't get too hyper so also you hormone, take as much rest as you can to avoid any of these to happened just before the bid day.

Re: Two Questions

Always get face threaded, never waxed, wax will always leave bumps and zits for days. At least threading will only make it red for a few hours...
Body waxing, a 4-7 days is enough time....

Re: Two Questions

i agree with sara, she is right threading is less harmful sometimes thn waxing can be. also, the poster above who rec. stress b complex, tht's a great rec! it really helps keep stress and stress related acne at bay. you can also apple niacinamide 1 month in advance before the wedding each night. how you do this is you buy niacinamide from the store (it's in the vitamins section, usually in whole foods) and you open up two pills. you pour the contents of the pill into a bowl and mix with your favorite non oily moisturizer and mix and mix and mix. it doesn't fully dissolve but that is fine. just apply the mixture to your face and sleep. niacinmide is vitamin b12 and it basically helps keep acne gone while still keeping skin smooth and it fades any marks or tan you may have.
another tip to avoid acne and inflamation is drinking 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegr diluted in 1 glass of water each day. you must buy the apple cider vinegar from a store like whole foods as they are not distilled their and they have "the mother" at the bottom which is this frothy looking thing. this also helps in keeping weight gain at a minimum it helps to lose weight too and helps skin get that glow and prevent acne from forming.
also, taking evening primrose oil (another vitamin) but this one is osmetimes hard to find, maybe try a healthfood store or look online. this helps keep hormonal acne away and is best to take around that time of the month (about a week before).

that';s it for now, if worse comes to worse and you have a big pimple the day before the event you can go to the dermatologist and they can use a coritsone shot to take tht down (but with the tips that everyone has given so far and trying some of the things i suggested i bet you'll be fine)

BTW, YOU HAVE GORGEOUS FLAWLESS SKIN!! So no need to worry too much :)

Re: Two Questions

Aww thank you so much for the great tips guys - thinking about these two things already give me the jitter bugs in my tummy :S

Re: Two Questions

erm i made a mistake by waxing my underarms a week before my wedding and little hairs were back by the time it ws my wedding u dont know how painful it was to get rid of them. so i wud suggest you do your body wax only 2 -3 days before wedding , also it depends on ur hair growth and skin type.

to be on the safe side. i think you shouldnt wax ur face anyting could happen. how abt bleaching and threading.
anyways good luck u must be very xcited.. js remember be relaxed and enjoy and dont worry as this is ur day and ur happiness will reflect onto ur face

Re: Two Questions

I had the main waxing and threading done the day of the mehndi (two days before the wedding). The day of the wedding there was some touch up threading to do, but that was it. My skin mashAllah was fine.

Until that time I was uncomfortably hairy on my arms and legs. alas. :fraudia:

Re: Two Questions

sorrrrrrry for a really silly question, but do u hav to get full body waxed b4 the big day or it jus depends on u???

Re: Two Questions

It depends but its better to get full body wax since you wouldnt need to get rid of hair again and again for at least 15 days.
