two questions

Is it ok to say Assalam O Alaikum to a non muslim?

2nd question is , durings the weddings when they pass the dulha dulhan Quraan Paak kay neechay, like Quran paak dulhan kay sar kay upar rakh kar usko guzarna rukhsati kay waqt. Is that ok to do according to Islam?

Re: two questions

1) no harm in it - some scholars have differed and say that u shud not start with the salam, but if they say salam u shud reply

2) no, thats insulting Quran

Re: two questions

1st, I read somewhere (probably some hadith) that if a non muslim says “asalamu alekum” then you should reply with “wa alaikum…” (tum par bhi, you too) instead of the whole thing.

2nd, as armugal said, is insulting quran. It is a hinduana practice but sadly a lot of people in Pakistan do it… Pakistani tv channels (dramas) are pretty much the leaders when it comes to pushing this type of satanic and unislamic rituals that make daily life complicated.

Bacha bachi ko quran parna ata ho ya nahi un ko quran ke neechey se zaroor guzaaro. :halo:

thanks for the answers. can some more ppl confirm or agree with the replies given here.

Re: two questions

I don't see any harm in offering peace to non muslims.

Rukhsati under Quran is just a cultural thing nothing to do with religion.
