Two questions please...

I have two questions please.

1- I need a good shami kabab reciepe

2- I am planning to make pulao, shami kebab for an informal family dinner, what else I can make with it, other than salads/raita, esp in vegetables.

Thanks.

Re: Two questions please...

Shami kabab: 1/2 kg meat(Chicken/beef)boneless and not minced)
3/4 cup chana dal(soaked over night so you dont have to pressure cook it)
1 onion
1 teaspoon red chili
1 teaspoon garam masal powder
1/2 bunch chopped corriander
1/2 cup chopped spring oniion.
whole garam masalaa,
2 egg

Boil chana dal and drain. Boil meat along with whole garam masala, salt, red chili and chopped onion . When meat is done, cook it till water evaporates. lower flame and stir so meat is really dry. Now put in chana daal, and process it. Mix in garam masal powder, coriander, spring onion and one egg. Make medium size kababs. They should be thin at edges, this is the real shape of shami kababs. Now beat other egg with a few drops of water till its foamy. This way the kababs wont smell of eggs. Coat and Shallow fry.

Re: Two questions please...

You can make chicken karahi or kofte. They are salan type item and go really well with pulao. If you are considering veg. you need to make sure there is some item that is not dry. You already have shaami kabab and pulao. Some salan type dish would be a good option.

Re: Two questions please...

thats what I am thinking what kind of veg salans I can do. My inlaws are south indian and they are coming over so I wanted to make thing pure pakistani style.

Let me know if you guys can think of a good combo for veggies.

Thanks for the reciepe JP and ideas spiral
