i wanted to ask 2 question plz.

  1. the christians believe in the big-bang theory and how god took 7 days to create earth etc.

i wanted to know what is islam’s view on how the nizaam of this duniya started (how this world started) and if allah took 7 days to create everything.

  1. is it true that islam says whip a alcoholic person in isalm? i haven’t seen any proof in quran about whipping a muslim who has drunk alcohol.

plz reply asap thanxxxxxxxx

Re: ???

There is no punishment prescribed in the Quran for drinking alcohol. Atleast none that needs to be implemented by the state. The punishment of lashes is based on the conduct of the Prophet (Sallalah O Alaihai Wassalam).

With regard to the punishment of the drinker in this world, the punishment is flogging, according to the consensus of the fuqaha’, because of the report narrated by Muslim (3281) from Anas (may Allaah be pleased with him), who said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) flogged the one who had drunk wine with palm branches stripped of their leaves and with shoes.

But there is some difference of opinion as to the number of lashes. The majority of scholars are of the view that it is eighty lashes for a free man and forty for others.

They quoted as evidence the hadeeth of Anas quoted above, in which it says that a man who had drunk wine was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and he had him flogged forty times with two palm branches that had been stripped of their leaves. Abu Bakr also did likewise (during his caliphate). When ‘Umar was the caliph, he consulted the people and ‘Abd al-Rahmaan said, “The minimum punishment is eighty,” so that is what ‘Umar commanded.

The Sahaabah agreed with ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) and did not differ. The Council of Senior Scholars is agreed that the punishment for one who drinks wine is the hadd punishment, which is eighty lashes.

jazakallah brotha’ the info’ provided was very academic and to the point. thanx once again, islam zindabad, kuffar murdabad :dhimpak:

so was the universe created within 7 days, or did Allah just say "be", and it was?

Quran Sura 7 verse 54 states:

“Indeed, your Lord is Allaah, Who created the heavens and the earth in Six Days, and then He rose over (Istawa) the Throne (really in a manner that suits His Majesty)”.

Aishaaa1, remember that even the Christians and Jews believe that it took 6 days - the 7th day, in the Bible, is one of which they claim Allah rested (which sounds distictly fishy - why would an all powerful deity need to rest???)

Interestingly enough, for insolent mods, the Quran says in two verses, (22:47 and 32:5), that the measure of one day in the sight of Allah is equal to 1,000 years of our reckoning. In another verse (70:4) it says that the measure of one day in the sight of Allah is equal to 50,000 years of our reckoning.

These verses generally mean that the time of Allah (swt) is incomparable to the earthly time. Which means that whilst to Allah SWT it took 6 days to make the heavens and the earth, these 6 days could have lasted a very long time in human terms- potentially even billions of years. We humans cannot comprehend how long a day of Allah SWT is.

In addition, consider the verse
"Do not the unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together, then we
clove them asunder . . .” (Qur’an 21:30).

Clearly, this proves that whatever matter is found in the heavens and the earth was once as one - a situation that would have been found at the moment of the scientists' proposed Big Bang, as this theory requires that all matter was once in the same place.

It is well within the power of Allah SWT to have created this universe with a Big Bang, and then created the objects within it over the time that followed, completing it in his 6 days - which, as I mentioned, could be billions of our years. Hence there is no apparent direct conflict between what scientists currently hold to be true and Islam.

Having said that, Allah SWT could have created the universe in another manner. We simply don't know in depth the details of the Creation.

it's not the christians who believe in the big bang theory, but it is a scientific theory which is very close to be proven.

And I've read that in the Quran too is evidence that the big bang was indeed the starting point of universe........before this only Allah was/is.
