RAWALPINDI: At least two military officers and three civilians were killed in a bomb attack over a vehicle of security forces at Fateh Jang crossing here, ARY News reports.
The incident took place on Wednesday when a suicide bomber hit a twin cabin vehicle on Fateh Jang road near Rawalpindi. The incident seems to be a suicide attack, security sources said.
In deadly attack two Lt. Colonels and three civilians were killed, military sources said. Lt. Colonel Arshad and Zahir Shah lost their lives in the attack, ISPR said in its statement.
Security forces have cordoned off the area and initiated investigation of the incident.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has condemned the terrorist attack.
Re: Two military officials, three civilians killed in Fateh Jang attack
if the targeted, surgical, retaliatory and/or tactical strikes were enough to bring down Taalibaans, i'm sure they would have done that long time ago. how long they would be doing this tit-for-tat actions? Pak Army needs to go 'all out' against them or the status-quo will continue and innocent people plus army personnel will continue to die.
but, the political and the military elite, especially the political elite, don't have the guts to wage war...
Re: Two military officials, three civilians killed in Fateh Jang attack
Pakistan needs to make a crime for anyone to support or finance Taliban activities in the country.
Secondly, terrorism related cases should be heard in summary courts where punishments should be swiftly executed.
Thirdly, ISI or IB should have their informers inside the known mosques connected with mufsideen. Anyone with terrorism connection should be picked up and executed.
Pakistan can't deal the extra ordinary evil with ordinary justice system.
Re: Two military officials, three civilians killed in Fateh Jang attack
Firstly, Pervaiz Rashid said today that "we are standing by the security forces against militants." I would want to thank the info minister for the statement.
Secondly, it sure seems to be a retaliation by those who were pounded by the security forces recently. As we see the new strategy of the army after the arrival of General Sharif, I am sure a swift retaliation would be coming tonight or by tomorrow.
Re: Two military officials, three civilians killed in Fateh Jang attack
I don't what happened to the counter terror policy. More than the army the provincial governments need to improve their security apparatus (police/levies and intelligence bureau).
Re: Two military officials, three civilians killed in Fateh Jang attack
That :k:
The problem with ISI/IB is that they are too much politicized and buisy in the stuff that they are not even supposed to. Thats exactly why they have failed to comeup with expectations, that is, stop things before happening. Its not like they are not capable. They certainly can do wuteve and whenever they want.
Re: Two military officials, three civilians killed in Fateh Jang attack
One thing is for sure, the areas around the capital have become den of militants owing to the proximity to KPK.
And also too many Madrassahs that aren't monitored or regulated. So many times I have seen graffiti glorifying these animals sprawled in steers in Islamabad.
Re: Two military officials, three civilians killed in Fateh Jang attack
That would mean civilian control / oversight which is lacking anyway in Pakistan. I still don’t know why the army exclusively needs ISI when they have MI?
ISI needs career spooks with years of experience like CIA.
Re: Two military officials, three civilians killed in Fateh Jang attack
First and foremost our hearts go out to the family members and friends of the two military officers and civilians martyred. We understand that these are very difficult times for them and at the same time we strongly condemn this senseless attack. There is no justification for suicide attacks; religiously or morally. The enemy should understand that these coward acts cannot deter the resolve for peace by the people of Pakistan or its military. Rest assured that the perpetrators of these attacks will be tracked and hunted down. We stand united with the people of the region who have already rejected these terrorists in strongest of ways. Together we are working to bring about terror free sustained peace in the entire region.

Re: Two military officials, three civilians killed in Fateh Jang attack
No , Perhaps the bill is against terrorists only , not the democrats Senate passes five bills with unanimous support
Two of the five bills deal with anti-terrorism and are expected to counter terrorist organisations and their supporters.
*Clearly against Taliban & people who can be called Taliban Khan *
