**Two men suspected of plotting attacks on an oil firm, a mall and a market have been arrested in the western Indian city of Mumbai, police say.**Abdul Latif Shaikh and Riyaz Ali are accused of planning to set on fire the office of the state-run Oil and Natural Gas Commission (ONGC).
The pair, from Mumbai, were arrested on Saturday, said police.
More than 170 people, nine of them gunmen, died in militant attacks in the city in November 2008.
Mr Shaikh, 29, and Mr Ali, 23, were arrested after a tip-off from federal intelligence agencies, the chief of the anti-terrorist squad of the city police, KP Raghuvanshi, told reporters.
He said the two men had “identified three targets” - the ONGC office, the Thakkar shopping mall and the Mangaldas market.
Mr Raghuvanshi said both men were in “touch with a person from Pakistan, whom they referred as uncle”.
He said police were investigating whether the men had any links to militants in Pakistan.
The two appeared in court on Sunday and were remanded to police custody until Thursday.
