I was having this conversation with a colleague. Her daughter wanted a better texting plan and I couldn’t understand why a kid (she’s 13) needs to constantly be texting. I asked, if she wants to talk to her friends, why not just pick up the phone or better yet, go over and meet them.
I find the more tools we have to be “connected” to one another, the more distant we’ve become from one another - nothing can replace face-to-face communication, but we seem determined to try.
