PESHAWAR: Two separate bomb attacks targeting security forces in Pakistan killed 19 people on Friday, officials said, the latest violence to hit peace talks between the government and Taliban militants.
A suicide attack near Peshawar was followed a few hours later by a bombing in the southwestern city of Quetta.
In Peshawar, a suicide bomber blew himself up in front of a police vehicle, killing at least nine bystanders including a woman and a child, police said.
In Quetta, at least10 people were killed when a motorcycle laden with explosives exploded near a college in the city centre, police said.
The main Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) faction denied that attack. “The TTP strongly condemns the Peshawar and Quetta blasts,”said TTP spokesman Shahidullah Shahid. “We have no connection to these attacks because we are observing a ceasefire.”
Ahrar-ul-Hind (Liberators of India), a little known insurgent group, claimed responsibility for the attacks. “We carried out the attacks in Peshawar and Quetta and we have no links with the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP),” Ahmed Mansoor, a spokesman for the group told AFP. “We will continue such attacks till the implementation of Islamic sharia in Pakistan.”
More than 120 have died in attacks since Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced dialogue with the militants in late January.

An increasingly active Taliban splinter group Ahrarul Hind or “Liberators of India” – a name referring to the whole of the subcontinent – claimed responsibility for the attacks.
I don't think anyone would jeopardise their own process for peace ... I would look to other people within Pakistan for the bombings ... Possibly outsiders or outside help.
And then there is this sad fact of those who took the blame of so called liberators from hind go around bombing two cities within Pakistan ... Targeting the people who are there to protect the country from places like India ...

First and foremost, we send our condolences to the victims’ families. We sincerely hope that they will find the strength to deal with this tragedy. We also wish a quick and speedy recovery to those who are injured. It is easy to see that certain terrorist elements do not want to see peace prevail in the country. They are fully focused on working against the government’s quest for peace and send the nation into chaos and frenzy. The seriousness of the situation requires us to remain united against the enemies of peace, and refrain from indulging in conspiracy theories that lets the culprits off the hook. Despite these attacks on both sides of the border, the terrorists have been unable to break our shared will and desire to succeed in our peace mission. We fully support Pakistani government’s efforts to restore peace in the country, and certainly hope to work closely in regards to our shared peace objectives in the region.
