SLAMABAD: A man was killed and another injured in a blast at Supermarket located in F-6 area of the capital, police said.
An hour after the blast at the Supermarket another explosion took place in Islamabad’s G-9 Sector at Karachi Company. However no casualty was reported in the second blast.
The police confirmed that a man was killed in an explosion that took place at the parking area of the Supermarket near a medical store.
The police suspect that the dead man might be a suicide bomber however the injured was identified as a watchman of the market and shifted to a hospital for treatment.
Police have cordoned off the area and (are) checking the nature of the blast", he added. Another police official confirmed the details of the incident.
A third police official said the man who was injured was attempting to plant a bomb.
The incident came after three days of air strikes by the Pakistani military against militant hideouts which killed at least 75 people, in apparent retaliation against insurgent strikes and against foreign fighters, according to a security official.
As expected, the blowback of security forces’ activities in NW has started to show up in cities. There are also reports that Twin Cities are being handed over to the Army for security purposes. I hope governments take all necessary measure to improve security across the country.
yeah, they have been talking about retaliatory attacks in the twin city. i think the cities have not yet been handed over to the army. it should be quickly handed over to avoid any further attacks.
Knock on wood, so far the retaliation is actually not that bad. I was expecting that by now there would be 100's of madrassa kids blowing themselves up.
agencies are busy providing protocols etc to the corrupt politicians.
Innocent people will, as always, end up dead due to this country's elite's mistakes. Send those afghans back to their country

As if they have some magic wand to avoid these further attacks.

the capabilities of army in stopping terror attacks is far greater than the local/corrupt police. agree?

No man its not the job of army to protect cities, or you mean they should impose curfew in the capital? Its the agencies job to take care of business and trust me they have the potential to know exactly who's doing what.
I was in khi during Naseerullah babar's operation against MQM and that was all intelligence based. I literally saw beggars and mochi sitting in the corner taking the walkie talkie out of their pockets and communicating and to me it was a successful one. To the least they can have an effective intelligence network in the capital.

So where are you now? Are you still part of intelligence agency?
