Twenty 20 World Cup

Since there is nothing left for South Africa in the present ODI World Cup, I will have to post w.r.t. the next World Cup namely, Twenty20 held in South Africa later this year link

Twenty20 makes the playing fields between test and “minnows” even smaller.

What are you people’s take on this first World Cup later this year?

Re: Twenty 20 World Cup

That junk is far from anything called real cricket. Its totally commercial and is being done to get this sport into the olympics and indoor cricket enthusiasts.
Unless they make some changes to 20-20 rules, the game will be totally controlled by batting that has little "technique" and zero class. Just wild hitting.
New rules can be softer decisions on lbws, no runs from edges etc. might bring the balance back towards the bowlers, otherwise its purely a batting display. I mean let the bowler be replaced by a machine and let everybody else field.

Re: Twenty 20 World Cup

ha ha ha ....
This time they put two losers ( India and Pak) together with a minnow in one group. This will make sure atleast one of them goes into next round.

Re: Twenty 20 World Cup

Twenty20 should have two innings per team :naraz:

Re: Twenty 20 World Cup

Hope the "minnow" is not Ireland because then India and Pakistan are toast!

Where did you get the info?

Re: Twenty 20 World Cup

Is Bangladesh in your group, old man? I hope the Saffies don't choke again :o .
