TV's

Recently I went to buy a TV. The range of TV’s is getting bigger and better. I was suprised to see so many different types of TVs, starting from small/medium screen 40 cm - 70 cm till large screen over 70 cm, Plasma TV, LCD, Flatscreen, Home Cinema set ect..

I decided to go for a SONY - KV-29 FX 66 E (72 cm, 100-Hertz). I like SONY for their best picture quality, nice designs and easy to use & understand remote control.

So what kind of TV do you have at home and anyone here has any experience using SONY TVs ? I personally did not really like LCD - screen but it seems to be selling well also.

Here is a picture of my SONY. I just love the design.

:halo:

Nice. I'm also looking for a tv, but a hdtv - and am interested in Sony's tvs (the memorystick feature is neato). I have a Sony from KSA(it's 12 years old) and it's so good It shames the stupid new Sanyo in the basement

P.S. I'd rather have someone tell me a story, than watch it on a projection tv or the current consumer projectors.

hskhan, 12 years wow, they sure do last long :k: we have this 15 year old Sony in pakistan, which may look like out of fashion but it’s still working fine.

Another good company is Panasonic, the pic quality is great, but they dont have so nice designs.

Saadia SONY tends to be expensive too.. also check TOSHIBA.. and in your neighborhood you can't shop for TV's without checking into Phillips too.

PA, we had a PHILLIPS but it lasted for few years and had to be repaired, so my parents gave it to someone.

TOSHIBA, well first i went for this one, yes it was cheaper then the SONY but then I couldn't bring myself to get anything other then SONY and it ain't that expensive as others, in the price range, I didnt find another better offer. I think I can pay few hunderts Euros more for more lasting quality.

Yes of course u can go and get a classy thing for 4-5 k as upwards there is not limit to that.

surprising.. i've had very positive experiences with Phillips.. and Panasonic for that matter.. Earlier, this year I had upgraded the TV back home (world cup and all) with another Phillips.

In the US i'd go with TOSHIBA if I had to..or maybe a Mits for HD, but thankfully i don't. No TV.

in TVs I am Sony person!

we bought a Sony when I was kid in pak and that tv is stil working fine. here in london I bought another sony a 5 years ago and its working fine but looking old fasioned though.

So I am again looking for a TV preferablly SOny plasma

it doesnt mean the other TV's are not good, but I rate them as follows and its based on quality and technology used.

  1. Sony
  2. Toshiba/Panasonic
  3. Phillips
  4. rest

high end style designers

  1. B &O
  2. Nakamichi
  3. yamaha

Sony all the way, their products last for ages and hardly ever go wrong (well not for us anyway)

If you can, try to get a widescreen television. The 4:3 letterbox tv's will be phased out soon.
