TV Shows teaching kids about Islam

are tv shows educating muslim youth about islam haraam? is it all types of imagery that are haraam.

islamic songs that get a person’s thoughts only on Allah, I thought were not haraam. what’s the logic behind them being haraam if they are seen as such?

Re: TV Shows teaching kids about Islam

i know i'm a nonmuslim asking but i'm genuinely trying to get more knowledge on islam so no offense intended

Re: TV Shows teaching kids about Islam

Is any member taken it as offensively? you are alone here :D btw I didn't get what you are trying to ask here? Is is about TV shows, imagery, Islamic songs or about person's thoughts?

Re: TV Shows teaching kids about Islam

tv shows about islam and islamic songs both in particular, it was said that tv shows are the same as showing images and images of any sort are haraam(according to what somebody else said). i don't see the logic in that or understand why shows and songs about islam or allah(when no image of allah is shown) is haraam

Re: TV Shows teaching kids about Islam

It depends on who you ask.
Some say that any kind of imagery is haram. Some say only the imagery of animate objects is haram. Some say Picture taken by TV or Movie camera is an image not an imagery which is haram in Islam. Some say that Any kind of imagery is not haram because Quran does not have anything about it being haram.
Some say it is haram because there are authentic ahadees which specifically forbid drawing a picture.
Each of these school of thoughts has their own reasons and arguments.
For me personally it depends on he intention of the person who draws the picture , as to if it was drawn for worship and is of a deity then it is haram. Others drawn for any other purpose is not haram.

Re: TV Shows teaching kids about Islam

I heard the pictures of creatures that have souls is forbidden. Like a painter draws real image of a creature. TV shows real peoples and i don't think there is problem. "Daff or Duff (a music instrument)" that is allowed but in some conditions i.e. marriage ceremony.

Lastly you may ask for references from that 'somebody' calling it haram.
