I kind of disagree…TV Artistes failing in films is more like a modern day myth.
Zeba Bakhtiar was pretty popular with her television plays before she made her successful debut across the border…its another story that her subsequent films didn’t work.
Shaan worked in television after his first go at films during the early 90s. From television, he went back to do some films with Syed Noor (Ghungat and Sargam) which worked and he was back in business in lollywood.
Resham was a known TV actress before Jeeva and Sangam, courtesy one television play she did with Ayub Khawar.
Humayun Saeed was pretty decent in Inteha, for which he even won the best actor award. No Paisa No Problem and Khullay Asmaan were simply bad scripts – they would have flopped regardless of any actor.
Saleem Sheikh was an established television actor before doing Chief Saab in 1996.
