Does anyone here tutor others, or have you done so in the past? How did you go about marketing your services? Thanks.
i have been tutoring highscool students in maths ... didnt market ... they came to me askin for help...
I've been tutoring a few, local, mohalla kids who are in the 11/12th standard (Intermediate). Teaching physics, english, biology and math.
Exams coming up so I've had to tell em off but I might join a local tutoring center afterwards.
Edit--No marketing and no income either.
the biggest marketing is word of mouth. to start off - post an ad in the local h/schools and ull get responses.
Are you thinking of tutoring Munni?

Yes
Yes
People talked and refered the students to me. I didn't advertise my services in any case.
I tutored football players. It was very... difficult, to say the least. :(
But my regular non-sports students turned out quite well Masha'Allah :).
What u do is, if u r in uni, put up bulletins on boards advertising yr subject, rates and phone #. If u r not in uni, u go to a local uni and do the same thing (u might need to take permission from Dean of students in some places). Or u advertise in a local Sunday paper.
I did make a steady income from tutoring, plus added it to my resume. It was a pretty good experience. Also, if u find place in a student union or a library where they have a blackboard, it helps.
Hired by the math department in Uni for tutoring at calculus learning center. All I have to do is sit there with a coupla students and help them out with their problems. There was a note on the Bulletin Board for this job, so I applied
I wish I did not .. the job sucks .. coz some students really eat ur brains out .. and I hate it
Oh well, the pay is pretty good :k:
