How do I turn IMG code On. In the world section when I create a reply it shows up as IMG code is off, how do I turn it on?
Sabah please don’t lock and delete this thread. I sincerely would like to know how to accomplish this. If you don’t know that answer please ask other admins. Kind Regards
You can not turn it off or on. Its controlled by the Admin.
We have IMG code turned off in all forums, except Feedback. The reason is to ensure that all images are first uploaded to GS servers using our Upload module and then thumbnails are posted in the forum. That helps us two ways: #1 it maintains uniformity in size of how images appear across forums, and #2 by disallowing hotlinks from other sites, we ensure that even if the other side removes the image, we still have it on our servers, and thus any time in the future if someone opens up a discussion, they will still see the images. It insures against deadlinks.
Therefore, to post images in any other forum, upload them to GUPSHUP and use Thumbnail tags to post them.
The only downside is that you can not post animated GIF's in other forums, as all images are converted to JPG. We'll try to resolve the issue in the next round of updates.
