I think it's part of mens' makeup...to feel needed...it's part of their ego/self-esteem. And to be too independent can be a turnoff. Everything within moderation. I don't think anybody can be completely independent....we depend upon others for support, companionship, etc.

I think too much independence ends up that you don’t care about the other person, as why would you if you don’t need him or her for anything? I assume it is a given that women shouldn’t be cocky with their men all the time. Now, I don’t agree with everything like take off your hubby’s shoes but some of it can be quoted for truth:

You know what? At least 2 years or so of desperate husband hunting? Yeah about 2 years.
I give up. I HONESTLY give up.
I have periods. I have them like 3 times a year because I'm bloody irregular (no pun intended, as I'm not as bloody as some other ladies), becuase I WORK HARDER THAN HALF YOU XY's around here. My circadian clock is nearly ALWAYS OFF, BECAUSE I WORK OVERNIGHT ON RANDOM DAYS, fall asleep in the afternoon on RANDOM DAYS, and then sometimes, FALL ASLEEP IN MY CAR HAVING TO PULL OVER ON RANDOM DAYS.
There are days, where I don't know what the syndrome even is, but I'm not sleepy - I'm TOTALLY AWAKE, and my EYES ARE CLOSING UNCONTROLLABLY. Like these EYELIDS? You know the things you shut AT NIGHT LIKE A NORMAL HUMAN BEING??? Those shut on me RANDOMLY.
So, when I celebrate about FINALLY BLEEDING FOR ONCE being OFF BIRTH control pills cuz I don't want to set myself up for increased cardiac risks (gasp, some of us women can be smart enough to choose our medications based on side effects, becuase we DO OUR HOMEWORK), then guess what?
I'M TELLING EVERYONE ABOUT IT.
It's like having a baby, for me. Instead of a baby spouting out, it's blood instead. Cuz you know what? In 10 years, when most of the girls around are going to have babies, all I'm going to have is blood clots. You know why? Cuz no one has the cahoonas to handle a REAL WOMAN.
I don't get it. I REALLY DON'T GET IT. Why make a girl feel special? When at the end of the day, all you're doing is just playing the field? Is it your right? Did God hit His head somewhere and tell you that you CAN DO THAT?? Because I don't recall that happening.
Whatever happened to actual responsibility?
WAIT. Whatever happened to desi guys having REAL JOBS?? What is this BS of "Oh I run a gas station". Um, did you just come to the states? No, I was born here. I'm just too darn lazy to get a real college education becuase my amma still washes my chaddis and cooks me my salaan every night.
OH MY GOD. People. For every wonderful 100 desi muslim women, there is like 2 real men out there. It's no wonder the real guys are all out playing the field (which no longer allows them to be consdiered real men, by the way).
And am I sour? Sure. But you're not the one looking forward in the future, having your future told to you by some creepy jadoogar in Karachi that found you somehow on facebook, and tells you you're gonna end up in a nursing home alone by yourself. That's the reality a lot of desi muslim women are now looking at, because there are not enough of you REAL MEN to actually have the BALLS to marry us, because you haven't had the courage to climb out of the wombs you still live in.

Thankfully, my gut responds to caffeine. I have a back up option. Caffeine. Other people don't have that.
That's my life now. LOOKING FOR BACK UP OPTIONS, BECAUSE YOU DESI MEN ARE NOT RELIABLE, SO WE NEED BACK UP OPTIONS.
