Which of the two airlines would you prefer to fly for long haul transatlantic flight? Both use 777s for the longest part of the flight, and then switch to either an A330 or another 777LR for the remaining journey.
Expected class of travel: Economy (for at least one way)
Cost difference is minor ($10-$20).
Why would you fly either airline? Seat comfort/Food/Entertainment/etc.
Thank you.
PS: Etihad and Emirates are available as alternate options as well. The fare difference is greater than $50.
No! definately not 200-300$ more for ICE! Unless im some sort of Sheikha, which I'm not :/
Qatar is a good airline but I'm assuming ull get a stopover in Istanbul if u fly with Turkish and I'd never pass that opportunity! Its my fav city anytime of the year and I never pass an opportunity to at least spend a day or two there..
But that's just me, you may have a different objective and purpose of travel obviously :)
It is not worth it to spend on Etihad.....Etihad has seriously degraded itself from what i hear.......(used to be good but not much now)
QR is still rated above TK.
You should check and see which airline has less travel time and book that (assuming luggage allowance is same on both)
And which one has more frequency? Assuming in case of IRROPS, which would have better service?
EK is a little too expensive in my opinion (specially from Pakistan), because even they are cramming their planes with too many seats.
And I feel safer on the B-777 than the A380 (my preference).
My wife even got amenity kit on TK in economy class, not sure if QR also gives in Y
Qatar would be my choice as my experience of flying with them was really good…the seating , food and entertainment options were also cool and I really had a smooth and hassle free journey…so any day I would shut my eye and choose them ! My next choice will be the Turkish airlines… since a stopover in Istanbul would be simply out of the world!
Stopover in Istanbul is not a planned thing, and because of the way itinerary will be set up (# of people traveling), a short and most direct journey is desired. Would have preferred non-stop, but that's not an option from Chicago at this time. If something falls on my head, and I lose my common sense, I might decide to travel to JFK and catch PIA from there, but unlikely at this time.
From what i've read, Qatar also gives you basic amenity kits, and toys for the children. (No children traveling, but thought that was cool).
Flight time is about the same for both. 17-19Hours as scheduled, plus/minus delays or early arrival.
So far TK is averaging $945, and Qatar $955. So the difference is really very insignificant.

Having travel on both, I would definitely prefer Turkish airlines over Qatar. I will prefer Turkish on any other airlines as long as they aren't Etihad or Emirates. They are good, they have wifi and good food.
