Turkey ...

I am not a big fan of eating meat … but still purely due to zaberdasti I manage to eat lamb and chicken and fish very very occasionally.

and every single year I manage to avoide eating Turkey at Christmas parties .. but not this year .. I think its going to be a tough time for me in trying to avoid it …

So what does it taste like? :scared: … Is it bardashtable taste for someone who hates meat?

Re: Turkey ...

CB.... I am a big fan of white meat (chicken and fish) only. I eat lamb and beef only when white meat not available...just not a big fan of it.

I have had turkey sandwiches... they tasted really good. Its tastes very mild....
Don't be scared at all. It will be bardashable...i'm sure :)

Re: Turkey ...

I'm not a fan of turkey meat...it's too dry and bland,so I drown it in gravy :).As blueangel said,it's bardashable..don't worry, you'll be fine.Just mix it with roast potatoes and other veg.

Who are you having crimbo dinner with??...

Re: Turkey ...

Yep put a lot of gravy on it and you can gulp it down with ease.

Re: Turkey ...

Turkey at an Xmas part is unlikely to be halal no? And nothing makes roasted Turkey less dry unless it's cooked by an expert chef or something, try getting a small cut and fill up on the veges instead!

Re: Turkey …

Thanks guys .. you have all made it sound less dangerous .. and I am starting to believe you all … so it better have a mild taste .. warna :asa:

Charmed and Sehrah , A muslim guy married to a christian lady .. So they are using Halal meat at the Christmas party .. I normally try to disappear behind the guests when it comes to Turkey, and its always worked at the past xmas parties .. lekin this time .. this is a close family event and there wont be more then 13 adults .. so yeah I will surely get noticed :crying: … God help me !
I am preparing myself for the worst!

Re: Turkey ...

Just fill your plate with all other trimmings , then take a very small piece worth a couple of bites and drench it with gravy. How difficult is it ? I did not like turkey initially and still do not like it if it is cooked American style. I desify it when I cook it myself.

Re: Turkey …

Mirch … I survived :yahoo: … I did exactly as you said … took a little trimming … poured tonns of gravy on it … and gulped it down without even chewing it much .. it was alright actually … More so tasted like chicken , that is not very well done  … but yeah all in all I survived :hula:
