Turkey is urging its citizens to leave Syria; could it be trying to protect them from Syrian retaliation for a future act? Which brings us to the next point.

Turkey is saying that it cannot cope with the increasing number of refugees crossing the border from Syria. The government is saying that one idea under consideration is to create a buffer zone inside Syria that Turkey would keep the Syrian military out of.
Since a buffer zone is not militarily feasible while Syria’s armed forces are still at full strength, hopefully this means that Turkey is planning on using humanitarian intervention as an excuse for a full scale invasion of Syria. If Erdogan pulls this off he will become the true darling of the Arab world.
