Re: Turkey Stuffing?

Your going the stuffing route? :hmmm: I was thinking of making a dressing instead because I’m worried about everything cooking properly. I’m also on the lookout for recipes, hopefully someone has a tried and tested one. Currently, since I never made it before, I’m thinking basic and since I love mushrooms I’m thinking of making this one (omitting the brandy of course :))

Whaddaya think? :hmmm:

Re: Turkey Stuffing?

This is such cheating but I make stuffing out of box (Kraft stove top) and saute onions and apples on the side and add them in. Comes out amazing.

Re: Turkey Stuffing?

^ No fair…:naraz:

Do I need to add anything else aside from onions and apples? Or is that it? How much per box?

Re: Turkey Stuffing?

Why re-invent the wheel ?
Many companies sell pre-packaged stuffing. I use Pepperidge Farm stuffing.

Re: Turkey Stuffing?

Seriously, this has been so helpful! I was freaking out thinking I would poison people because Ive never made stuffing before. But it helps to have a mix to start with. Maybe next year, I can make my own but the first time around...its good to have help.

Re: Turkey Stuffing?

Not all dressings use corn flour, or I think

I orginally wanted to use a box mix but my sister was persistent on making everything from 'scratch'...............but now you guys got me back to the box.......its just seems so much easier than trying out a new recipe

Re: Turkey Stuffing?

You can always fortify boxed stuffing with some additions of yours and various garnishes. Try a small batch first like a couple of spoons and taste and smell it, if it taste and smells good , make a bigger batch.

Re: Turkey Stuffing?

You need 1 apple and 1 medium onion per box sauteed in butter. Cook the stuffing as directed on the box. When its cooked, just add in some black pepper, red chilly flakes, and the onions/apples. You might need some salt for taste.

Make sure to only use a fork to stir in the extra stuff, so the bread still keeps its body.
