The government should have simply said (loud and clear) that there is credible information that Taliban would attempt his assassination during his trip and because of the security situation of the country, the government cannot provide any kind of security to him and will not be responsible if he cannot reach Lahore alive.

He would have shut up.

I am of this view, had govt said that there is direct threat to the life of TuQ… he would have restricted to video confs… only… it is govt who got him all this attention…
