My question is that is it safe to use the tumeric you use in cooking? I have read mixed opinions.. some say using tumeric is good for acne but doesn’t quiet specify if it is suppose to be a special tumeric powder?

Turmeric has antiseptic properties and that's why it's used for treating acne and marks left by acne. Ayurvedic doctors swear by it's healing properties. The turmeric that's used in 'beauty' remedies is the thick stubby, ginger-like turmeric called 'wild turmeric'. The one we use for cooking is safe to use as well.. it may stain your face yellow but that's temp and can be removed using a good astringent or toner.
