Re: Tujhey hum wali samajh-tey
Irem: Ghalib’s poetry is not about Ishq-e-Majaazi alone or the nikammi baataiN as per you. The angle you may be looking at is very surficial. This is all about Literature. There is a reason Ghalib is considered an authority in the langauge of urdu. If you love the literature and you want to learn Urdu, Ghalib is a must to read. Poetry is not “nikammi baataiN.” It is the expression of your innerself and your inner emotions. There is a reason why the curriculum of Urdu in the schools of pakistan must have Ghalib be included. There is a reason that MA’s of urdu need to know everything about Ghalib. There is no poet of urdu, who does not recognize the greatness of Ghalib yet he/she is considered a poet in the circle of Fine Arts. When it comes to Ghalib, he is the only one who introduced the urdu poetry of type for which it was said:
Gar apnaa kahaa khud aap samjhay tau kiyaa samjhay?
Maza kehnay kaa tub hai, jub ik kahay aur doosra samjhay
he is the kind of poet who recognizes the greatness of others as well:
Tarz-e-Bey Dil maiN Reekhtaa kehnaa
Asadullah Khan Qiyamat hai
Reekhtaa kay tum hi ustaad naheeN ho Ghalib
Suntay haiN kay aglay zamaanay maiN koi Meer bhee thaa
When it comes to urdu philosophy in the poetry, he is at the climax of it:
NaheeN thaa kuch tau Khudaa thaa, kuch naa hotaa tau khudaa hotaa
Diboyaa mujh ko honay nay, naa hotaa maiN tau kiyaa hotaa
Hakeem-ul-Ummat, Muffakir-e-Pakistan Dr. Allama Sir Muhammad Iqbal :rehm: has said for Ghalib:
Fik’r-e-InsaaN par teri hasti say yeh Roshan huvaa
Hai par-e-murgh-e-takhaiiyul ki rasaai taa kujaa
Thaa saraapaa Rooh tu, bazm-e-Sukhan pekar tera
