the bold part in this post of yours is where the disagreement lies. America funded Taliban (earlier working under the banner Mujahideen), yes. But then they abandoned and betrayed once their heroes, soon after they made agreement with Russia to exist Afghanistan. Now America is funding TTP (which some chose not to distinguish from Afghan Taliban, while others do), which is NOT in war with America its Afghan Taliban who is mainly at war with America and its Afghan Taliban who opened their office in Qatar, and its Afghan Taliban who America wants a negotiation with, not TTP.
Occasional hits of TTP leadership here and there, via drones, can be anything from a smokescreen to wrong human intelligence to cleaning out of control elements to appeasing Pakistani Comrades in Uniform to allow US intelligence presence in FATA to a try to keep US's name clear of supporting TTP.

so TTP appearing in Syria (if its true) to wage Jihad against al assad, cannot imply their support to US in that war theater? why? and almost everyone here agrees that Saudi is playing pawn in this war as well, not only in this war, but they have done so before.

i wish things were black n white so gullible people could feel confident in their narrow views. there is outside influence from india uaa to numerous groups inside pakistan. the true ttp may not be one of those but other groups and individuala using the name are.

Good on them. As far as I'm concerned, on the road to redemption if this is true. To fight a better equipped army slaughtering civilians = heroism. To slaughter civilians = terrorism. The math is in favor of TTP, at least in this case.
