Re: TTP Punjab surrenders
If anything, now that they have decided to do 'tableeegh', I think they could potentially become even more dangerous with time.

Re: TTP Punjab surrenders
Misleading title perhaps. They have not surrendered they gave up the armed struggle (they say so)
Its not going to help. Someone else (probably from within TTP) will call those who made that announcement, noneffective members of TTP, - or some other terrorist organization will simply replace them

tableeGh from the end of a barrel perhaps! ![]()
Re: TTP Punjab surrenders
I don't think the Punjabi taliban was active at all...

I think we have a little misconception about Tableeghis here. They might be annoying to some, but they are otherwise very nice and harmless people. In fact, thought they are all Deobandis, the mainstream Deobandis were not happy with Tableeghis, because of their soft stance on Jihad.
I have a feeling that Tableeghi jamaat was able to penetrate the inner circle of TTP and were able to successfully convert them. That is a great success on the part of Tableeghi Jamaat if they are behind this

Thats why i pointed out the difference but if they really surrender themselves, I'll take it as it will still be a start of symbolic disintegration. To bring down a wall, you always have to start with a brick that might not make hell lot of difference at the start...
Re: TTP Punjab surrenders
tableeGh doesn't have to be 'tableeGhii jamaa'at" style. work of da'wah has many forms.
the first rule of tableeGh is that it starts from your own home and da'wa should be done with wisdom and knowledge.

I wasn't talking about Tableeghi Jamat. I was taking about the idea of terrorists doing 'tableegh'. Hate crime in Pakistan are on rise in Pakistan as it is. We still haven't managed to do a much needed 'crackdown' on hate preachers, how on earth will Shahbaz Sharif government deal with TTP's brand of open 'tableegh'?

Baitullah Mehsud loyalists deal a blow to TTP
02:55 Sep 15, 2014 UPDATEDISLAMABAD: Outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) seems to be heading towards total disintegration as the loyalists of late Bailtullah Mehsud have ungrouped themselves from the umbrella organization, which is struggling to survive in the face of a ‘fast and furious’ factionization, Samaa
Re: TTP Punjab surrenders
One has to appreciate bilawal for raising valid point...Doesn't matter if Punjabi Taliban called off attacks; don't spare them...
Re: TTP Punjab surrenders
Tableghi jamat don't participate directly in attacks they provide hidden help like terrorists who attacked garhi shau and model town spent night at tableghi center raiwind before the attack.
Agar sharam hoti tau....
Re: TTP Punjab surrenders
TTP Punjab Chief seems to have a convoluted sense of renouncing violence and militant activities. He seems to believe that conducting activities on another country’s soil is somehow going to diminish the fact that his group is, and has been, involved in terrorist activities. He also seems to share the Afghan Taliban perspective that the U.S. has invaded to occupy Afghanistan; this is the propaganda which they preach and which couldn’t be farther from the truth. We support and aid the Afghan National Security forces and Afghanistan’s democratic institutions because we want to see an Afghan nation free of terrorist havens. Conducting terrorist attacks against the NATO forces is equivalent to hurting the path of progress for Afghanistan. A stable neighbor would bring stability to Pakistan also; therefore in essence, Asmat Ullah Muawiya is still an obstacle to peace in the region. In addition, does his statement of renouncing terrorism mean much if there are splintering factions of this militant group upon which he has very little control? Or is this just a gimmick to win some sympathy among those he has previously harmed?
