TTP distributes threatening pamphlets against elections

The taleban are trying their utmost to disrupt the polling process by increasing activities in KPK, Quetta and Karachi. InshaAllah all their efforts would fail.

Who ever forms the next government will have to ensure good governance (as thats essential to rid us from the terrorist scourge once for all). The political vacuum and bad governance helps subversive elements.

****KARACHI: The outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants organisation distributed pamphlets in Buner, Peshawar and different areas of Karachi warning citizens not to participate in upcoming elections, DawnNews reported.

Leaflets were distributed in various areas of Karachi warning people against attending political rallies and casting their votes at polling stations.

Local administration and security officials were reportedly unaware of any such incident.

The pamphlets warned voters that they would themselves be responsible for their own lives.

**Speaking to Dawn.com TTP spokesperson Ehsanullah Ehsan said that democracy was un-islamic and was the agenda of secular forces in Pakistan due to which they were opposed to it.
**
He added that the militant organization would continue its fight against secular forces and governments which were backed by external secular countries.

Similar pamphlets were distributed in Peshawar’s Badaber, Mattni and Adizai areas.

Earlier today, leaflets were received near a mosque in Shingrai in Shalbandi area of Buner warning residents against taking part in upcoming elections.

Local residents and security personnel confirmed that leaflets were distributed in the area, which had threatened of attacks similar to those taken place in the area during 2008 by-elections.

**The pamphlets were issued by Taliban militants based in Malakand division’s Swat area.
**
Militants had earlier targeted the local population after taking control of the area, as the locals, who were opposed to militancy, resisted the takeover by raising their own lashkars and supporting government forces.

Militants had carried out a suicide bomb attack in Buner during the by-elections held for NA-28 after the demise of a local leader, Abdul Mateen Khan in 2008.

At least 45 people had died and 150 were wunded in the attack.

The Taliban had earlier issued a threat to all secular political parties and till recently have carried out various attacks on leaders belonging to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Pakistan Peoples Party and Awami National Party.

Pathetic act by TTP

Re: TTP distributes threatening pamphlets against elections

Is it not possible that those who is wishing to form next government are taking help from Taliban so that they can win election, as we all know that target of Taliban is only few political parties, not all.

So, how can you expect if next government would be of Taliban sympathisers, than they would do anything to get Pakistan rid of terrorists?

Re: TTP distributes threatening pamphlets against elections

I believe that the Taliban are there in the country due to bad governance. How can peace be established in the country? What can be achieved if criminal elements are arrested and PPP/MQM come to their rescue? How can peace be achieved by politicised security apparatus?

Re: TTP distributes threatening pamphlets against elections

I do not believe that Taliban is there in the country due to bad governance. For instance: Would you (or I) would join Taliban just because Pakistan is having bad governance? I do not think so, nor I think any sensible person would do that.

Taliban is not even there because of poverty. Actually, many of these thugs are playing with money coming from Saudi Arabia and other gulf states. Many Pakistanis are also giving them money, sympathy and support. Khwariji thugs have enough funds to get food, shelter and clothing, and also have enough funds to buy explosives to blow themselves up.

Taliban is not even there because of American drones or Pakistani army operation in FATA. Drones might have killed some innocent Pakistanis unintentionally as collateral damage, but then Taliban are killing 100s of times more innocent Pakistanis brutally, and all their killings are intentional. So, argument that Pakistanis are joining Taliban because of drone attacks and military operation makes no sense, as such arguments are illogical and absurd.

It is just like saying that if an army of Muslims invades Palestine to free Palestinians from atrocities of Israeli army, and in process some Palestinians unintentionally get killed by this Muslim army, then Palestinians would join Israeli army to fight Muslim army because of unintentional casualties of Palestinians by Muslim army. Even thinking in such way is illogical and absurd. Same is true about Pakistanis joining Taliban just because American drones and Pakistani army fighting Taliban unintentionally killed some innocent Pakistanis.

Re: TTP distributes threatening pamphlets against elections

^ why do you think militants have found safe havens in Yemen, Iraq, Syria and Libya?

The militants are in the country, how can they be crushed now?

What about karachi? Don't you think the infighting of political parties like PPP, ANP and MQM helped TTP in establishing footholds in Karachi? In recent days semblance of peace has been achieved in karachi, by arresting subversive elements (across the board) and I have seen mqm and PPP come to the support of the arrested people. Do you think this kind of political interference play a positive role in curbing terror?
