Re: Tsunami Reloaded
I was just talking about the irony that the players conspired against him just like what he had done against Miandad. I have seen miandad with Imran in functions so I guess that maybe that hatchet is buried as well.

Re: Tsunami Reloaded
NS and Zardari/Bilawal address a rally or merely their own supporters. IK addresses the nation, his speeches are culturally inclusive reaching out to all the communities and ethnic groups. I know he's young and inexperienced but feel the difference between this (vote-seeking) video message by Bilawal and IK's speech today.....
Really? Start with south-north Punjab division?

Re: Tsunami Reloaded
Yesterday's Tusnami at the D Chowk was first time ever I went to a political event in my life. Before these elections I was never involved in any political event and was never this passionate about any one particular party. Living in the US for the past so many years, away from Pakistan, I was rather indifferent about political culture in Pakistan. I have been involved in various non-political pakistani events in US since past many years, one of them being the yearly celebrations of Pak Day LA.
It was only inevitable that I would align myself with one school of thought and party. And like many many other overseas Pakistanis, it was natural for me to be inclined towards PTI. I have previously been to a few Imran Khan fundraising events in LA. I was already exposed to the ideology of Imran Khan and PTI. Am also a member of PTI California Chapter.
The Change mantra of Imran Khan appealed to me and that brought me to D Chowk from all the way from California.
In Islamabad, yesterday, the cross-section of Pakistan's population could be seen. There were people from not only Rawalpindi and Islamabad but from various parts of Pakistan. Islamabad is a city where many people from other parts of the country live because of livelihood and career and they were there yesterday. There were blue-collar folks there, there were white-collar folks there. There were less fortunate and less educated folks there. There were middle class folks there and upper class folks there. People walked on foot while others came on there Mercedes. There were ofcourse a lot of youth but that doesn't mean PTI has awakened youth only. I also saw middle aged men as well as people who had come with their entire families including toddlers and kids. I also ran into people from UK and US who had come specifically to show support and cast their votes.
All this means that Imran Khan's ideology and vision appeals to people from all walks of life.
Taking oath of Naya Pakistan at the D Chowk sent shivers down my spine. I must say that Faisal Javed Khan who has been with IK since the beginning and has been present in all the jalsas, knows how to bring life into the crowd. His emphatic voice could be heard all over Blue Area yesterday and all the way to Raiwind.
It was a pleasure to hear the speeches of SMQ/Hashmi/Fauzia Kasuri. I hoped that Asad Umar and Abrar Ul Haq had also come and addressed the crowd. It was an international crowd and last jalsa before the elections. Since IK was injured and on bed, it only made sense that the entire leadership of PTI should have been there. Because of injury, IK missed about 8 jalsas in the last two days. In my opinion these big wigs should have picked up the slack and continued his campaign as scheduled in the last two days instead of just retricting themselves to their own constituencies. These guys are banking on Imran Khan to get votes in their respective communities, so why couldnt they have carried on with his schedule for the last two days.
A lot of us at the D Chowk were hoping and wishing that with some miracle Imran might just show up even if in an ambulance. Thats the reason many of us went there in the first place. When we finally saw his image on the LCD screen and heard his voice, the restless crowd was rejuvenated and the noise was deafening. It was all worth the wait and sweat and fatigue and hunger. ( yes was hungry at that point and later we all went to the Savor Foods).
In a few hours time, I will go and stamp on the bat and vote for Naya Pakistan.

**“I leave you with this final message that those who mocked the Tsunami of PTI will soon feel its wrath upon them as it will destroy corruption. Now is the time for every single one of you to rise up and do something to save your country and bring about lasting change in Pakistan. Chalo Mil ka Banaeyn ak Naya Pakistan” -*****Imran Khan, March 10th 2013 in Peshawar
***Tsunami reached its climax yesterday at D-Chowk. Still any non-believers left that said Tsunami is dead?
