hi all ..
so doing the curls for the first time , never used any styling products so have zero idea of what to buy .. i am not looking to throw my money so i need some budget friendly options of what kind of spray /mousse i should look for…

PS : I saw a sparkle spray for the hair and body , anyone knows how best to use that ?

are you using banders for doing the curls or rolling them up and securing with bobby pins? I prefer loreal studio line volum max amplifying mousse either ways. Usually, I do the curls a night before & leave it secured with banders/bobby pins over night and open them up the next day. Curling iron is a big no no for me
dont know what type of sparkle spray are you referring to... we have glitter spray for hair & body. which is just like hair spray but has micro mini glitters it gives luminous shine to hair & if used on body its just like body mist with glittering micro mini particles.

I use a straightening iron and a heat protectant to curl my hair. It takes a bit of patience and practice but you can get pretty curls. I use John Frieda products.

thanks ladies ...yeah I tried the rollers but the curls didnt linger long enough .. so dropped that .. thinking of getting a curling tong ..
Anyone tried the no heat curling method? how long do the curls stay? is it any good?
Yup , I saw the shimmer spray as well as the sparkle spray , the shiny bits were slightly bigger in the sparkle one , I have no idea if it is used for the same purpose as the shimmer spray ?

i have used all the ways to get curls lol. loose curls, tight ones, just the bottom, complete length :P. used electric curling tongs, curling tong used by heating on the stove, no heat curling method too (banders/bobby pins - thts what i suggested) if you leave it overnight & apply mousse before doing they stay for good 2-3 days ! i usually do the "madhuri full loose curls" lol. Either with banders or bobby pins. Always complemented :). i do it by parting & taking few strands, applying mousse & then rolling them up with my fingers till the top & securing with bobby pin. It takes alot of practise but result is gud. you dont end up damaging your hair.
another way i do is (when i want results quicker say about its for an occasion in two hours) using a blow dryer & round brush, i tend to round the end way-out or way-in (how i want them) apply gel & roll parted hair strands with my fingers & secure with pins. Dry with a hair dryer.

My frend s a Beautician she told me to use loreal gliss n silk mousse. since then m using this n its really a gud product makes ur hair luk silky n shiney n lasts up to 1 n half days...

Ur welcome Chicken briyani, hair spray is ideal for finishing or setting the hair style for long lasting hold usually used after blow dry,hair straigtening or occasional uptos like a puff or something . Mousse is suitable for curls as it holds them while keeping the texture & look of the curls soft & natural. it doesn't give the hair spray look where the spray tends to "stiff" the hair. This is what i learnt from my mother who run a saloon :D

My bad. they are benders. they are like hair rollers but "bending curlers" they are made of foam like material. i wish i knew how to post pics, i would have posted. you can google hair benders.

^Yeah, they were really popular when we were kids.. I still use them now.. Got a pack of Nicky Clarke flexi stylers which heat up and they’re brilliant for creating curls and ringlets..
I can’t use most tongs + straighteners in case my extensions melt

I use a curling iron and wrap my hair around it to make curly waves. I use loreal elnett hairspray.

Hm, weirdness. I just went to the hairdresser and she showed me an easy way to do it. Let me get the products tomorrow that I need, then I’ll test drive it at home.
The thing is I hate blowing 20 dollar bills on these stupid hair styling products and then they don’t work.

Yeah, the case they come in is connected to an electrical source and you just wait for them to heat up.. like electric rollers..
The ones that don't heat up also work well, just need to keep them in longer..
I have rollers too but find these easier to use plus it's quite fun bending them all over the place :D

They're quite easy to get hold of
Apple blossom, I don't use any spray but can do to make them last longer (mine last all day anyway) or add more shine..

if you use mousse and keep these benders overnight, your hair do can last upto 3-4 days (that is if you can stay without washing ur hair for so many days lol)
