Salam
Few days ago I gave lift to a familyhas om Rawalpindi to Islamabad F8 markaz. The family included a women in her 30s. Her two years old son and a woman in her 50s I guess. First women let’s say her name be Sana told me her sad stories. Her husband abandoned her and got married to her friend .she has helped a lot her friend throughout her life and it came as a shock to her.
She told me she was a lawyer before. Marriage but her husband didn’t let her do any job. And now she wants to restart her career but she does not have enough resources
OK according to stories she told me everything in her life is goongy wrong.

She lost her favorite mobile
Her brothers for which she gave tution fees and expenses of all studies won’t let her liver with them and misbehave with her.

Her favourite brother who was a commando in Pakistan Army was martyred.
Her friends of good times have abandoned her and don’t even want to talk to her.
She does not even have lawyer clothes.
Her son won’t let her do anything as he is a kid and very very demanding.
Daycare centre is expensive and unsafe …her child sort of has some threats …Didnt ask her details.
And few other problems as well…

My question to the you is what would you have said or done in such a situation?

Well I asked her what sort of help she needs ? I asked her if she wants to borrow some money from me.which she accepted with thanks. I am not too rich otherwise. I would have given her more. I also gave her NY contact number to return me when its easily possible. Oh the other lady she told me her case which is some murder case is pending in court for past 2 years with no progress at a coat of 1.5 lac until now. Sana is going to help her today for free.
Anyways she told me after few days that she helped that lady and her problem is solved.she also told me she got a new case and she will get bale of her client in next hearing.
Until now i think and beleive what she saying is true and want to help her more.

Please suggest am i too naive in doing so? I have helped people in past as well but nobody ever returned me borrowed money.
Sometimes people also forget they borrowed from me.

Never lend money to anyone with the expectation of being paid back. It just doesn't happen. Especially in cases, where they need it and their chances of repaying you are slim to none. However, do not tell make it obvious that you are gifting them the money. That way, it still looks like a loan.

Yes, seems very naive on your part. I mean anyone can make up a sad story and you dont exactly go on telling random ppl giving you a lift about all you troubles. Sorry if I'm sounding harsh or whatever, but things seem fishy here.

how well do you know this lady? did you give ride to a stranger? if you know the lady, find out about her from common acquaintances.

if you gave ride to a stranger, chances are the stories aren't true. better stay away unless you get some references from someone you know and trust.

Hi

Today She contacted me and told me she is sick and need my help again.

She further told that she got some cases in court and she utilized her fee in settling down previous debts.

I couldn't say no as it seems she is telling the truth and in a lot of pain .I sent her more money.

I hope she would be fine and would be able to live on her own.

Then she could pay me back.

Although I have decided if she asks for more money in future I would apologize politely.

What would you have done if you were me?
