How long does it take you to trust others?

Lets talk numbers .. and stay away from “always”, “never” , “ages” kind of answers .. you will be surprised at the variety of answers :hinna:

I will start with me ... in 99% cases I trust an individual in less then 10 minutes :( ...

Biryani & Moly & Arly, my sister says that the people who say they never trust anybody cannot be worthy of being trusted themselves. So by her logic, you guys are awesome rather than naive.
Personally, I let the trust factor build up naturally over time.

Over time, at least a year. There's only a handful of them anyways.

wow .. el topo thats exactly what my nanajee says … though I must say , trusting others quickly has its downside as well …

I sometimes feel that giving someone a minimum of 3 months and then building trust is a good strategy … its a good enough time to get to know someone whether they are a family friend, just someone you know or someone from your social circle in day to day life … :hmmm:

Used to trust people very easily.... over time and with experience (of dealing with people) I've been put off of trusting people that easily... I've met more than one persons who, at first, seemed super duper nice and turned out to be complete retards... I would say I've matured, I'm not as naive as I used to be and that is why it does take me some time now to trust the other person... Its hard to put a timeline on it, it depends on how much you interact with the person...

I agree with you. My experiences have taught me the same. Now I take calculated risks if I trust someone. Like if this person breaks my trust , how easy or difficult will it be for me to recover.

BBQ trusts other kids when she meets them in the day care, but forgets them when she leaves the day care

i promise myself not trusting people easily every time i am disappointed by someone, but i think it's nature, i can;t help with trusting people easily.

builds up overtime and when you meet someone (if for the first time) the vibe in them, if you have a connection builds trust.

For me to trust a man it’s done the minute we have a proper handshake and sit down for a meal and maybe a :cobra: afterwards. Because the handshake is an old gesture and very symbolic. In my way of thinking when two guys shake hands, usually it’s with thier sword hands and thus only when the hands are empty can they be shook.

As for sharing food it’s again a very potent sign I cannot share a meal with someone i dont trust… in fact sitting with among them is impossible.

But for Women it’s different… I can only trust after having known for at long time… at least three winters.

I can live and die for a guy after just three minutes… but a woman unless she was my shadow I could not trust a woman that quickly… :omg:

Depends on the person. Can be a few months to years. I don't trust some of my best friends.

I used to trust people very quickly .....but over time I've come to realize you really can't trust anyone but yourself.
Like Jafri said sometimes you can't even trust some of your bestfriends !
