Trust

How fragile is this ‘trust’ thing!! Sometimes it just get shattered like a glass bowl for no reason and sometimes it survives all the stormy seasons and stays firm.

Do you feel it can be repaired once broken?

Re: Trust

That is why you should always carry magic epoxy with you

Re: Trust

^^ You mean Elfi?

Re: Trust

why not samad bond? :-|

Re: Trust

Trust is more akin to samad bond as both of them take a while to really glue together :)

Re: Trust

^ I like that analogy. So are you implying it could be repairable?

Re: Trust

is he back yet

Re: Trust

Depends on both sides, if the person who broke it is willing to put an effort to show he/she can be trusted, that means not just talking, not just words but deeds.

And it depends on the person whose trust was broken too. If that person is capable of trusting the other again after whatever happened between them.

Re: Trust

If you're already in a marriage, its easier to get past a breach in trust, than if you're dating. If you're dating, then kiss it goodbye if you're to admit to the person that trust was broken.

Re: Trust

^ thats not necessarily true

you can build it up but it would probably take a long time

Re: Trust

personally speaking - it is very hard for me to trust people. when someone's breaks my trust, then for me it is not something that is repairable.

Re: Trust

Darling Last I heard Bill Clinton was still sleeping on the couch. SO it aint that easy either.

Re: Trust

Well sure if you've a Hillary Clinton for a wife.

If you talk about desi aunties, the picture is different.

Re: Trust

This is a very difficult subject to answer definitively.
Every case is as different as the personalities of the individuals involved.
Cultural taboos are influential, as are religious aspects.
More later...

Re: Trust

Sadya, you really are right there. Some individuals dont really have that wide acceptance levels. They hardly trust anyone and when that gets broken, their range narrows down further. Maybe how hard someone tries to rebuild, it just doesnt work. Right? Well said!!

Re: Trust

I love it when non-married folks give advice regarding issues they have never experienced...

Re: Trust

pcg, its not about dating though but a mutual trust between two individuals who just respect each other a lot. and when trust is damaged by say a misunderstanding, dont you think it can be pretty hard to take?

Muzna-- we shall wait

Re: Trust

Its is pretty hard to take.

Re: Trust

See thts the spirit. I believe time is a big healer and in the long run a person’s efforts to heal that trust damage could mean more than the damage caused? Persistence is the key here though.

Clutching to straws, am I? :-/

Re: Trust

no you are not...its not unheard of but you have to be a good boy from now on or it ends up being worse :p
