Truly Inspiring Person

Re: Truly Inspiring Person

Someone's having a rough day!

  • So let me get this straight. I tell you that handing out money to poor people will not 'resolve' poverty and you have an issue with that statement? So you believe hand-outs solve problems?

Giving handouts does not do anything in the long run for them. Ever heard the phrase 'Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will eat for the rest of his life'? Instead of giving handouts, you give out education, you give out training, you give out freaking 'finance'. That's what is really going to solve issues you've mentioned. Yes, ofcourse we must help everyone in every single way we can. I never once mentioned no one should stop giving away money. That's part of the solution. You help people out in a comprehensive way, not just parts. Islam exemplifies the process I've mentioned. Everyone knows about the incident of the beggar turned lumberjack. You go so far as to say there would be no hunger and destitution in the world if we gave Sadaqah and Zakat. It would help ofcourse but it wouldn't solve the problem. Do you know Pakistani citizens give out the most charity per capita? Why do you think we still have a problem. Look at the bigger picture mate, step back, ponder and then perhaps you'll have clarity to understand what I'm saying. Think through before you start ranting, you seem really angry.

  • What does Islamic Finance have to do with my statement? Islamic Finance does not start and end with you giving Sadaqah and Zakah mate. You really think that's how it works?

Wait, hold on. When the hell did I even mention Islamic Finance? And since you do raise it, what does that have to do with this issue? You didn't really make sense with any of that. Malthusian wannabe? Seriously? Sigh

I know you're angry, I know you're going to want to rebuke my statements. I know how it feels buddy, its frustrating, but the best thing you can do is to admit you ran off your mouth sooner than you'd have liked. I agreed with you that this guy is doing a lot of good work and we all should do what we can. I had no arguments there. I had an issue with a statement you posted and I responded. You can do the same without making assumptions and putting words in my mouth.

Peace.

P.S. Pick one statement I've posted that does not make sense. And please, I beg you think logic before emotion. I'll be happy to apologize.

Re: Truly Inspiring Person

How sad are you? That you must come to a thread about someone who is making an actual difference, rather than whining and writing multi paragraph rebuttals about Sadaqa, Zakat, and other related nonsense. People like you ARE the problem, rather waste time complaining about what CAN'T be done instead of working on what needs to be done.

I am going to make a request that is most reasonable: Please do not derail my thread and do not waste our time with your conjecture and noise pollution.

Moderators: Can we please have this person go away?

Re: Truly Inspiring Person

Infant mortality rate is not a measure of country being poor or rich, developed or not. Just to point out. :)

Some great points there.

Making people lazy by charity/aid is one use of charity/aid.

Re: Truly Inspiring Person

**If aid/charity was really so good, there would not have been so many people and countries...... beggars or poor.

Just like begging is a 'business'...... 'aiding' is also a business. **

That guy who supposedly helped the needy people and made a movie on it did it for a purpose. Only fools can fall for that. Sorry to say that. Not impressed a bit!

Re: Truly Inspiring Person

Ah, so just because I've called you out on some errors in your judgement, you call me 'sad'? I've been nothing but civil in my post and the following counter-response. And where in the world did I write against giving charity, Sadaqah or Zakah? I 100% support all forms of help. All I said was we must do more. And I'm Al7amdliAllah content at the work I do for charity although I'll definitely 'do' more! People like me aren't the problem. Your responses demonstrate the issues with 'us' as a 'nation'. We start seething rather than look through the issues and understand them. If I call you out on something, you should really just think about what I'm saying rather than get defensive. You haven't picked apart a single argument of mine and now you want me to go away? Good one mate!

P.S. Didn't you ask me to reply to your counter? And now you call it noise pollution? Ah, good old internet debates!

Re: Truly Inspiring Person

The 'one' who asked someone to be gone has gone. Interesting.
