I think we are talking about two separate things. You don’t need to advertise that you are giving a few million pounds to a particular cause, but it is important to get the word out about organizations and people who doing good things because they need money, resources and political support to make sure that their good work continues to be supported.
One of the biggest reasons why many people in India/Pakistan do not give to charity because they are afraid of their hard earned funds going to corrupt people/going to waste – this is where people can step in and actually advertise the NGOs/people they have worked with and investigated.
