truffles!

Re: truffles!

sunset eyes...would you please let us know what coatings did you use for each truffle you have in that plate? I see white chocolates and crushed almonds. what else is there?

Jal Pari - when the whole mixture was made, i divided it into 3. In 1/3 mixture i added some orange flavouring and coated it with dark choc followed by crushed walnuts and almonds. 2/3 mixture was just plain and i coated it with white choc with drizzles of dark choc. 3/3 mixture - i added mint flavouring and coated it with cocoa powder!

Graphic design - ur truffles look fab yar! Well done to your sis!

Thanks soo much...this helps a lot :)

No problem. :)

Re: truffles!

^ tell me about it! i really like PW and her recipes- her blog is hilarious.

Re: truffles!

ok, so i tried the modified recipe SGC posted...and the chocolate truffles coated with coconut turned out perfect!!! :)

i tried to make another batch with the same ingredients using white chocolate instead of semi-sweet chocolate...and even though the taste is awesome, the truffles came out soft :(. the same for the dulce de leche truffles i made :(.

has anyone tried making white chocolate truffles?? what am i doing wrong?

will post pics soon!

Re: truffles!

you probably needed to refrigerate them before serving. the heat from your hands while you roll the truffle balls will soften them up.
how did you make your dulce de leche truffles?

i did refrigerate them- overnight actually but they were still soft in the morning and actually flattened quite a bit...so they were more like flying saucers than round truffles :P.

i bought a glass jar of dulce de leche (the consistency was like a creamy caramel) and added a few spoons of dulce de leche to the white chocolate mixture.

gonna take the truffles to an all girls eid party...hopefully its a hit!

Re: truffles!

^ i'm sure they were a hit!

it maybe sounds like there was too much "liquid" in your truffles and not enough chocolate so they didn't harden properly. hrm.

Re: truffles!

indeed, they were :). the girls devoured them!

i don't think it was liquidy...because the white chocolate truffles didn't harden either.

the only difference was I replaced the semi sweet chocolate morsels with white chocolate ones.

still trying to figure it out !
