I will try to but it is hard to explain these concepts in English.
Ok here it goes.
In Pakistan traditionally the chicken and eggs are most expensive. Some poor people will raise chicken at home for laying eggs to enjoy those eggs. Chicken meat is expensive and sometimes the doctors or hakeem will tell the poor patients to have chicken soup/yakhni for gaining strength during and after sickness.
Now some times the chicken gets sick and starts to die , so they cut down the healthy looking ones to cut their losses.
So one of my friends mother came up with this idiom.
If some poor is having a chicken dish then either he is sick or the chicken was sick.
Now let me know did you get it all ?

humm i havta say its very unfortunate of pakistnis tht we have to think this wa about them… it is not the fault of poor or rich it is the daym government which cant take good care of the farms n farmers… they wanna save there daym money for their CLOTHS N JEWLERRY N WHT NOT. but they cant spen a lil money on the medicines for the farm animals n the farmers or ANY POOR insan in pakistan… . chickens get sick cuz of the environment they r being breed n then brought up also the knife they r cut(halal) with i duno wohkitni murghion pe per day cut hoti he 10 murghis per wash… dammit thts alot of germs . here n Canada i try to use mr clean n febreeze air freshner try to use pine sole when m swiping n their we have nuttn but crap n germ n durt… . n m not saying all is the governments fault people pakistan r very illiterate n have no manners n thts becuz there parents never had time to tech their children manners they were bzy n makn more children… 6 siblings 10 siblings 5 sibling
