I have heard this a couple of time. By computer network I don’t mean 2 computers talking to each, but more like a WAN, connecting different offices together in various cities.

This is probably more of a trivia question. I don't know, though even if its true, it won't be surprising. We all know that necessity is the mother of invention. PIA, as an organization had the wherewithall (money and resources) and the need to link its officers to get a grip on reservations. So its possible, they were the pioneers in Pakistan in this.

Indeed PIA was the first one, when they installed first computer network in as early as 60's. and yes it was all IBM at that time.
