At first I thought it was a gmail issue either with some of their accounts or perhaps only mine but its been 2 months now and it persists so I am sure there must be something wrong with my settings or I am missing a file or something. And I have tried Hotmail too and it gives same error message that IE has stopped working. Please help!

try reinstalling chrome or FF.

I was having this trouble with yahoo mail (newer interface) but it has went away lately and things are a tad batter with IE 11. Have you installed the newest version from Windows Update? But that seemed to be a Yahoo issue as Gmail would work in IE or chrome and I assume in FF too. I am using Chrome more these days as it is just a phase that I go through where I pick up and use one browser more for some time before switching to FF.
I was unable to add new paragraphs, hence my long posts like a run on sentence before, but IE 11 has fixed that.
