Trouble falling asleep night before wedding

Did anyone have trouble falling asleep the night before the wedding? It’s a big day - how did you get a regular, good night’s sleep? I’m curious

Re: Trouble falling asleep night before wedding

God, I'm awful with sleep and stress..

This might sound a bit OTT but I only book afternoon/evening flights for this reason and I'd choose an evening reception as well..

Re: Trouble falling asleep night before wedding

Well I'm not married yet, but I had my mangni recently and my sleep the night before was the worst in my life! Went to bed nice and early at 10.30, then got woke up by a text at 12.30am, and stayed awake the ENTIRE NIGHT until after the mungni! It was so awful, I was so anxious! So I think for the shaadi I'm gonna try and chill out a bit, maybe drink some hot milk before I go to bed, and most importantly keep my phone OFF all night so I'm not woken!

But I'd love to hear other peoples useful tips on getting a good night's sleep the night before! It's also important as it gives u good skin the next day!!

Re: Trouble falling asleep night before wedding

^ I can so relate. I could not sleep at all the night before my Nikkah...I was on like an hour of sleep the day of.

Even though my shadi function will be in the evening, it's very important that I sleep all the way through the morning so I can have enough rest for getting ready the next day...and be fresh till whenever shadi will end which will probably be late.

Re: Trouble falling asleep night before wedding

I didn't sleep either. I tried but the excitement and anticipation was too much. I think I was up until 3 and then my cousins forced me into bed and I lay awake thinking about the day to come and dying to get the mehendi off. I finally gave up trying, woke up at 6, scrubbed off the mehendi and by 8 I was at the salon getting my hair did. Yay, weddings! Don't worry about lack of sleep- the adrenalin and happiness keeps you awake and ready to party all day long. As it turned out, we didn't go to sleep until 6 the following morning when our after party ended! Best 24 hours ever! :D

Nyquil lol

Re: Trouble falling asleep night before wedding

this is so gonna be me :( i think i might make sure that two nights before I'm EXHAUSTED so then the night before i can fall asleep! worst thing is that if I've not had enough sleep i have the worst skin ever :(

Re: Trouble falling asleep night before wedding

ill be on pills - maybe just this once.

Re: Trouble falling asleep night before wedding

dont worry about your skin....even if u havent slept 2 nights before wedding ur skin will still look fresh n glowy becoz of excitement! lol believe me!

Re: Trouble falling asleep night before wedding

I'm worried about this too because everytime I'm excited about the following day, I find it hard to falla sleep the night before. Night ebfore wedding will be no different and I don't wanna look tired or have bags under my eyes!

So I'm thinking maybe I'll get some over the counter sleeping pills. Or just the drowsy medications for cold.

Re: Trouble falling asleep night before wedding

^ give them a shot a couple of weeks before the wedding though. sometimes those pills can leave you feeling groggy and tired the next morning, even though they're not supposed to!

Re: Trouble falling asleep night before wedding

I didn’t sleep well before the mangni or the nikkah.

Mangni - due to excitement :stuck_out_tongue:
Nikkah - Since hubby was singing songs & sending over What’sapp

Re: Trouble falling asleep night before wedding

thats cute hehehe

Re: Trouble falling asleep night before wedding

Really, the pills make you feel groggy? Eh...I guess I'll try a few weeks prior first then.

Re: Trouble falling asleep night before wedding

wake up extraaaa early the day before your wedding, so that you automatically pass out that night - hopefully that will take care of the unsightly bags on the day of your wedding!!

Re: Trouble falling asleep night before wedding

i ll try to do this :P

Re: Trouble falling asleep night before wedding

Xanax. I always take this the evening before big events (or visiting in-laws! ;)) so I sleep like a baby and stay calm the next day. Works like a charm. If I don't get enough sleep, I look tired and my eye get puffy/red. Not taking any chances on my big day. I'll be taking 1 around 9:30-10 the night before and heading to bed.

The best part is that since its a anti-anxiety pill, the next day, I'm so calm that I can't get upset or stressed even if I want to! I'm not a zombie.....just calm/relaxed. (I don't recommend anyone take this for the 1st time the night before. Just like any other pill, take it a few times weeks in advance to see how your body reacts to it).

Re: Trouble falling asleep night before wedding

Just recite droood shareef again and again it will give glow to your face and u will feell relax and calm:)

Re: Trouble falling asleep night before wedding
