while opposing the war still trying to benefit ?

The oppostion is just the public face of it.. Germany opposes, but lets the US use it's bases for medical purposes at least..
No different from the US withdrawing the human rights criticism of China. All China had to do was not file the motion against US.
Another way to look at it may be that we have people who are so desperat that they take such assignments in spite of the risks involved.
At the end of it however, it's a lot nobler to drive a bus in Kuwait-Iraq that take up terrorism as a vocation.
