What do you think about them?
Okay, not okay? All in good fun, an excuse to engage in a spirited debate, insensitive to the people providing genuine responses? Do you assume that some/most threads are fake?
Let’s discuss!

Like Thank you thread…

Re: “Trolling” threads
Obviously that would undermine the concept of a talk forum on a serious note. So NO NO to the trolls

Re: "Trolling" threads
After the trolling one today, I'm disappointed. :( It's fine when it's blatant trolling, but not when it's not. I should really go for my gut feelings more often, lol.
Re: "Trolling" threads
I did have doubts that LahoretoLondon was a troll....but it was just as possible that he was being genuine, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. People DO have such issues in real life. When it was confirmed that he was a troll, I wanted PCG to chop of his ding-a-ling like she had threatened. I felt annoyed for a few moments....and then I laughed. And a few moments ago, I thought that even if it was a trolling thread....if one responds with the intention to help, then it's my belief that you get sawab for it, so I do see a gain.
Apart from that...despite the foolery....it's good to know/see that there are several intelligent and mature members on here that will help a person. And you do learn from reading others' posts...look at things from various angles, etc.
Re: “Trolling” threads
Yes the LTL’s threads! Make one feel befooled. Thanking to myself for not having written novel length posts there :hinna: ![]()
Re: "Trolling" threads
just boycott such threads when you sense it. Trolls breed on attention. They will die when they wont get any.
Re: "Trolling" threads
But why wouldn't you think that instead of giving advice to the specific OP, you are giving general advice that might help someone in a similar situation? It's an exchange or sharing of ideas.
I agree no one wants to be made a fool out of, but sometimes there are some truths hidden in unintentional comments, more than intentional comments.
Re: “Trolling” threads
Let’s all get together and chop that ding-a-ling off.
…Oh hang on, I have a case of OCD - PCG, do the honours please.

Agreed. In the future, I shall ignore Sehrysh when she makes obvious troll threads such as this

I agree
Re: "Trolling" threads
LTL was a troll???? Who woulda thunk???? That is a true shocker!!!

Shukar hai, phir mujhay aapko jawaab daynay ki zehmat nahin karne pareygi ![]()
Re: "Trolling" threads
Only when OP starts a thread that is describing a general situation, then it warrants a a general advice. Starting a thread asking how to help a dying cancer patient vs a thread that says 'oh help me cause i am dying from cancer' - are 2 diff threads all together.
Re: “Trolling” threads
Didn’t quite think that one through ![]()
Re: “Trolling” threads
I totally agree! I think this is an important distinction :k:
Re: "Trolling" threads
Back when I was young.....
we didn't have much trollin' threads, and now it's become a big pattern. It takes away from the quality of the forums actually.
Re: "Trolling" threads
^ couldnt agree any more.
