Never been thru it. Oh well. Hm…I dunno if this counts, but one time, I think my parents wanted to show me off at this picnic. The couple throwing the party has a son about my age, and my father apparently really likes him or whatever. My parents had been talking to the guy when I was at the uni on the weekends…and I didn’t realize it until my sister told me AFTER the picnic that they probably wanted me to meet the family and the guy.
My father was so excited that I was coming along - it had been a hectic semester and it was the first weekend in a long time that I had come home to visit them. So they dragged me off to the picnic, and the only thing I found weird was that my mom was WANTING me to wear Gold instead of fake jewelry. Oh yeah and my dad was like “you’re looking gorgeous”…which kinda should have tipped me off right there.

It wasn’t traumatizing at the time, because I was unaware what the parents were upto. Looks like something my parents had planned with the guy’s parents.
Last I heard recently, his mother has been hounding him to propose to me Desis, I swear.
