WOW that's a lot, i thought my ticket was expensive. I am travelling from NYC to Islamabad June 7th via Etihad, and it cost me $1450. Isit really just Oil prices at hand for all these fare increases?

I am travelling from NYC to Karachi via Etihad too and it costs me 1450 too.

I guess I got ripped off then. But then again, I am flying out of dallas. Also, Emirates is higher than etihad anyway.

Yeah Emirates is way overpriced. I thought peak season didn't start till like Mid-June, and I bought my tixx before the peak season...dunno.
But $1450 is still a lot! Have you been on Etihad before? I hope its decent.

Etihad is not affiliated with any partner airlines in the U.S so its hard with connecting flights (not being able to check in luggage all the way to final destination). Emirates was lower than PIA, blelieve it or not, for the dates that I wanted.

lufthansa and may 15th, i think when you go from usa, pak comes before india so the distance is less right :)

May 15th is not peak season. I was getting $600 cheaper ticket if I flew anytime before June 7th.
There are many places that come before India. It doesn't necessarily mean it would cost less to fly there.

Well i didn;t know that but as far as I was told, I only check in my luggage once at JFK in NYC and I will receive it in Islamabad, I will check it in just once. In Abu Dabhi, I need to confirm but I think I just sit go to next boarding gate, with no more baggage worry, except for carryo on

Since you are flying out of NYC, you don't have an issue. If you were flying out of say Houston, your travel agent would have to get a you a round trip ticket from Houston/NYC which would be separate from the Etihad itenarary. You would have to check in your luggage at Houston and then collect it in NYC and then check in again onwards all the way to ISL. I know someone who had to do that recently.
