Since a trip to the carribeans seems out of our budget at this time, we’re thiking of going to Miami and spend about 4-5 days there. The purpose of this trip is just to relax and take a break from our daily routines.
If you can provide some guidance through your own experience there, I would really appreciate it. What are some good and reasonably priced hotels to stay there…we would prefer to be at beach front and willing to spend around $100/night.

If you want to relax then head out to the west coast of Florida ... St Petersburg, Naples, Clearwater area. Miami is too crowded and too much of a Latino influence.
If you are hell bent over going to South FL then check out Ft Lauderdale and Boca Raton.

Thanks funguy. By looking at attractions in varios places in Florida, Miami seems to offer more of what we're looking for.
If anyone can provide some guidance especially in terms of accomodations in Miami, I would really appreciate it.
