hey can anyone help me out to plan my honeymoon trip to malaysia … kindly guide me from where to start step by step … where i should go first .. how much time i spend there on each location .. where to go next .. how to go on next location .. where to stay on each location?
i just have 10 days and i dont want anything much expensive ..
thanks
You can start with Kuala Lumpur, which has got various attractions, beaches and shopping malls. And other good places worth visiting are Penang,Perhentian and Langkawi, and you can spend 3 days or so on each location. And for moving from one place to another, you can either go by air or use the rail system.
There are so many places in Malaysia to see, but as you are on honeymoon I would suggest that you stick to a couple of places only. Go straight to Langkawi and then come back and spend a few days in KL. Purpose of Honeymoon is not sight seeing.
Thanks alot everyone!!! ... you guys r awesome ... really appreciate it .. hav saved all the info .. so glad i joined gs .. thanks again :) .. God bless you all ..
Witch nailed it: your first trip as a couple should not be spent sightseeing. Go straight to any resort for the first 7 days. Snorkel, hike, swim...just relax together. Feel free to get wasted in KL afterwards.
On a side note, Malaysia is sure trying really hard to lure Pakistani tourists. Their ads are verywhere in Pakistan (KHI, LHE).
i just got back from five days in malaysia in sept
type 'malaysia tourism' and do a search for their official website
i dont know if Kuala lumpur is the best place for a honeymoon but nice to visit anyway
places to see in KL are batu caves, petronas towers, putra jaya, shah alam masjid
to get tickets to goto the skywalk in the petronas towers you have to line up from 7am to get a ticket for that day otherwise forget it, you wont get a chance if your not in the line by then
i suggest a sidetrip to singapore also
the bus is 5 hours on aeroline and they pickkup from the corus hotel where i stayed
singapore is probably more honeymooney with chinatown, little india, arab street, central business district, and a day trip to sentosa island is also worth it with the pink dolphins
also Melaka is a nice place to visit 2 hours from KL and halfway to singapore
it has a 17th dutch settlement and colonial houses
also has a replica royal palace of the malay kings
and a chinatown built in 1930s architecture like old shanghai
Go to all the places LondonE7 writes (these are all in city). Also take side trip to Genting Highlands or Cameron Highlands.....lush green hills. Don't miss Langkawi or Penang Island.
I would advise you to book Air Asia from Kuala Lumpur or Penang Airport to Phuket Island (Thailand). Damn cheap.....It's half an hour flight. You will love Phuket. Awseome beaches. Phuket is for honeymoon. I came back last week.
Kualalumpur Airport is one of the nicest on earth connected to city by ERL train. When you return no need to take your baggage all the way to airport. Just go to CITY check-in drop of your bags, get boarding cards and ride the train. Then eat or look around the airport and enjoy!
they do not use the new airport from the ELR train station but the old LCC terminal which was the original airport on the other side of the runway. you have to take a local city bus or taxi from the new airport terminal to get to the LCC terminal for air asia. there is no free connection between the two terminals
i found out the hard way and thought i was in the wrong airport when i got to KLIA!! :)
if u use air asia i suggest pay extra for 'express boarding' so they board you first and you can sit where you like before the other passengers board. regular boarding is very chaotic like a cattle car!
